Moment In Time

Jamie Lightfoot

Oil. My goal is to manipulate light in my oil paintings and photography in a way that invites the viewer to come along on the journey. The structure of the work provides a roadmap for the eye. But the path is impressionistic, leaving the mind to fill in the blanks and the observer's soul to complete the scene.

Atolla Jelly

Frieda Verlage

Block printing. My goal is to continue to learn about all the different biodiversity that the deep-sea offers and create artwork that sparks curiosity in others to learn more about them. Deep-sea creatures often have the reputation of being big and scary; however, the more I learn about them, the more I see them as uniquely beautiful and incredible. I enjoy working on a smaller scale since it allows me to get more intimate with the design for each creature. I hope that my work inspires others to look at the deep-sea in a new light and take action to protect and conserve our ocean.

Underwater At Shilshole

Kristine Svehla-Brown

Acrylic. I discovered acrylic flow painting as a medium and spent time experimenting with this method. I often come back from a swim inspired and ready to create new artwork. With this medium, I see so many similarities in the paint as I do above and below the water.

Silver Tides

Alexie Blake Sinclair

Acrylic. Though impossible to bottle the overwhelming peace that the ocean rushes at us, I find it. This particular piece is contemplative of life itself: deep hues and silver highlights, the delicate balance between chaos and calm.
