Photography
the art or practice of capturing a moment.
Cinque Terre Afternoon
Jessica Stern. My goal is to connect the viewer to the world through captured moments and an appreciation for the details that are everywhere, but often missed. Time and the world are in constant motion, but the camera collects and makes permanent the fleeting moments of stillness and beauty they offer.
Bodies of Water
Geraldine Grace Montgomery. In Bodies of Water, I explored what it could look like to for humans to reconsider their bodies and connect more with the earth, namely water. I tried to create imagery that could capture the ethereal experience of being fluid, absorbing, flooding and submerging.
I create my own process in working with material to understand ourselves primarily as bodies of water; to rethink the ontology of what it means to be a body, but also to rethink our relationship with the other multitudinous bodies of water with which we are locked in an inescapable relation of interbeing
It’s Cold in Here
Johanna King.
My first camera was a box Brownie that my auntie gave me when I was in the 3rd grade, and I still have prints I made in the bathroom when I was a teenager. I love the way the camera allows one to look into the very soul of people, animals, and the earth herself.
Salish Sea Harbor Seal
Wendy Feltham
I photograph the diversity of species on the Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
Above and Below the Dungeness Spit
Elizabeth “Betsy” Carlson
The reflection of light on water inspires me. My camera is a constant companion.
French Farm Lake,MI
Andrew Whiteman
I captured this image wading into French Farm Lake in northern Michigan. The waters of the Great Lakes I saw along my journey were all genuinely awesome, but this quiet reflective moment perhaps better captured some of the more delicate emotions I was feeling at the time.
Little Wave
Kristine Svehla-Brown
I am interested in capturing the moment in a fluid medium. Time stands still.
Montessori Kids, Water is Life
Alice Di Certo
I develop my film to expose the uncanny, hidden and fluid qualities of what lies within.
Utopia
Jiani Chen
I'm a shutterbug, and I guess I am more willing to define myself as a person with a great love for life. Recording my life through the camera lens is attractive to me, including taking photos, making videos, and so forth. It is because I believe that accessing those art forms is another way to care about the world. We ponder and wander freely between the artworks.
